Art

Three adults dressed in Grinch outfitsThe art room at Henry Clay is a wonderful place for preschool through second-grade students to be creative and explore different forms of art. Students come to art once a week and receive instruction in the areas of art history, art production, aesthetics, and art criticism.

Student artwork is always on display throughout the halls at Henry Clay. However, throughout the school year, our art department is involved with the following special programs that allow the public to view the children's artwork:

  • Channel 99 Hanover Art Fest
  • Hanover County School Board
  • Office Exhibit Hanover County Arts and Science Festival
  • Youth Art Month

Art enriches a child's total learning through valuable experiences in self-expression. If you have questions about the different media, artists, or artwork experienced in our classroom, please contact our art teacher, Annie Rodriguez.
