Look For The Good Masks

Henry Clay faculty and staff are learning to look for the good in 2020!

After a quick halt to our 2019–2020 school year, teachers and staff embraced new technology methods and instructional strategies to keep students engaged in learning. Henry Clay Elementary School (HCES) employees could not wait to return to the new school year to reconnect with the Tiger cubs! The cubs could not hide their excitement even while wearing a mask!

When we began preparing for the 2020–2021 school year, we decided that with all the mandated rules and regulations for face-to-face learning, we were going to make it the best! We thought it would be a great idea to choose a song that spoke to us on several different levels and make it our theme song for the year. We chose Look for the Good by Jason Mraz. The words in the song spoke to each staff member at HCES. 2020 has thrown us so many curveballs, but we continue to find the good in each situation.

Staff members recorded videos of themselves, and the videos were compiled together to make a music video. We did not realize just how much our positivity would reach the community. In the second week of school, Jason Mraz’s mother delivered us masks!

Our students and staff continue to embrace our theme this year. A special thank you to Jason and his mother, June, for the masks! We love wearing them. Our students know the words to the songs and remind us throughout the day to keep looking for the good!
